One Million Moms Drops Protest Against Ellen DeGeneres and JC Penney

The family values group OneMillionMoms.com has dropped its protest against JC Penney and its celebrity spokeswoman, Ellen DeGeneres.

Last month, the organization began urging the department store to cut its ties with the talk show host because she is openly gay.

JC Penney refused to cave into the group’s homophobic demands, and DeGeneres herself spoke about the issue on her show, saying, “haters are my motivators.”

With its goal unaccomplished, One Million Moms says it is will focus its attention on other “issues.”

    Trust me, not all of us are hateful. As a Christian I don’t condone hateful behavior because we’re not suppose to be like that at all.

    Yes, I am aware of that fact, but when you take SOME of ‘them’ – like that Westwood bunch of haters and then this group, it is nothing but shameful. Of course, the Bible is the cause of many wars in the history of our world OR rather how SOME interpret the written word.

    Yes, there are those who like to take what they want out of the Bible and then don’t bother with the rest. Then you do have those who purposely misinterpret it for their own selfish reasons. I just wanted you to realize all Christians aren’t hateful like many think we are.

    OneMillionMoms.com still need to look out their windows and get out more. They may not realize it but gay people are all around them. They are all over. I have some friends online that are gay, but not offline, but they are around. Sure they dropped it but they will concentrate on something else to hate on. Only cause that so called issue they were after is not really an issue. The issue was them being hateful on something that is around them and they may not realize it.

    Go to their website to see the shows and commercials they are going after now and look at what they claim as successes from their protests.

    Did you look at their website to see their current issues and previous successes? They must not be able to watch much TV, because sex is everywhere! I’m not saying that’s all good, just that it’s a part of life and don’t know why any reference to it has to be hush hush. It would be interesting to know how many of these OMM have gay children OR have had teenage pregnancies in their family, from not teaching the birds and the bees . . . Not likely to ever be documented or revealed though. A gay child would probably be sent off or just disowned . . .

    To use the words of another small minded man, I believe that anyone who is homophobic and who likes to spread gay hate is unnatural, ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization.

    I will never understand why some people have to spend all their time and energy in hating a specific group of people or persons. This mothers group need to open their eyes, it will be their children who will be gay and hate themselves their whole life and be scared their parents wont love them. I can not imagine that kind of hell. Growing up is hard enough, kids shouldn’t have to be worried that their parents will disown them.

    Same here! She is one of the kindest, most loveing and generous people on this planet. Everything she does is for the good of others. She donates millions of dollars to people in need and to help animals. Do not bash Ellen!!!

    I’ll bet there are not one million, one thousand or one hundred (well maybe 100) women in this group. They have too much time on their hands. The advertisements are very good and are very enjoyable and funny. Ellen’s sexual preferance is immaterial here. She only does good. I’m straight and I love Ellen. You Go Girl !!!!

    What’s the big deal? If they don’t like gay people, they can not watch the show, no one forces them to do so. Ellen is a good journalist and a very positive person, I love to watch her shows, she always makes her guests feel comfortable and never imposes her preferences in sex to them. It’s better than to look at lecturing Mommy. She treats people with respect and has the right to be respected by others. The fact that she’s gay doesn’t mean she must give up her favorite thing to do. If she hadn’t say she’s gay, everyone would ask her about it and call her harmfull because of hiding this aspect of her life. If she led everyone know she’s gay, there are some people who prefer not to know. Gosh!

    You are entitle to have your own opinion, and step up in protest if you disagree with something. So those woman has a right to do what they want.
    Not everybody has to agree with people being gay, you should not be threatened just because you have a different opinion.
    Ellen is nice and good hearted person, but remember, she is celebrity. She is not going to show you her real face. Her personality could be created to just gain ratings. I am not saying she is pure evil, just that you should not believe everything that TV producing…….
    She does not giving out presents from her pockets, those are given by sponsors who advertising their company that way….
