One Direction and Perrie Edwards were not dissing Zayn Malik when her group Little Mix opened for the singer’s ex-band at the Apple Music Festival in London, despite a ridiculous webloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this rumor. We’re told it’s simply “not true.”

As Gossip Cop has reported, Malik left One Direction this past March, and broke off his engagement to Edwards in August. While a lesser site is manufacturing conspiracy theories about Malik’s ex-fiancee opening for his ex-bandmates, it’s actually has more to do with the UK-based bands both being in England and on the same label. Still, according to HollywoodLife, the concert collaboration between the two bands was a “major diss” aimed at Malik.

The webloid’s purely speculative tabloid piece goes on to say, “We have a hard time believing there was no tension between [Malik] and the boys,” despite the singer and his former bandmates having repeatedly assured fans that they’re on good terms. The site then claims, “We are sure that Zayn wasn’t thrilled to see his ex-girlfriend opening for his ex-band.” Gossip Cop is sure that the creative writers at HollywoodLies don’t know what they’re talking about.

Gossip Cop has repeatedly corrected the webloid for making up stories about One Direction, and Malik in particular. In August, we busted the site for claiming that the singer had “moved on” from Edwards with actress Zendaya. This latest tale is similarly inaccurate.

A source close to the situation exclusively tells Gossip Cop that the collaboration between One Direction and Little Mix at the Apple Music Festival in London had absolutely nothing to do with Zayn Malik. The webloid’s report is baseless and just “not true.”
