One Direction could be banned from the Philippines, if a group of bishops gets its way.

Following the emergence of a leaked video showing Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson smoking pot and joking about it in Peru, the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) has urged its government to ban the boy banders before they are set to perform in the Philippines next March.

Father Conegundo Garganta, executive secretary of the CBCP-Episcopal Commission on the Youth, said, “Do not lead [the youth in] the wrong direction.”

He added, “Why admit poisonous influences? There is enough poison in our society.”

Garganta also expressed that “parents should stop their children from buying the expensive concert tickets of [drug addicts].”

It seems, however, the Philippines’ Bureau of Immigration has no plans to ban the group.
