One Direction Bonds Backstage With 9-Year-Old Cancer Patient Lucy (PHOTOS)
One Direction bonded backstage on Friday with a little girl battling cancer. Check out the sweet photos below!
Lucy and her mom Angela O’Connor were invited to spend time with Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Liam Payne at the 3Arena in Dublin, where the “On The Road Again” tour set up for a three-night stop. On the first night, the guys welcomed 9-year-old Lucy with open arms. And O’Connor documented the special meeting on social media.
The evening, a total surprise for Lucy, kicked off with a limo rid to the venue. There she took photos with each of the 1D members, including several silly selfies. “Thanks so much @Harry_Styles @onedirection for meeting Lucy, fighting cancer,” O’Connor wrote in one of many tweets.
On Saturday she was still in awe about her daughter’s once-in-a-lifetime experience. She shared a pre-event photo of Lucy, noting, “24 hours ago, Lucy had no idea what was about to happen.” O’Connor also tweeted, “Wow, what a magical day yesterday for Lucy, from start to finish, thank you for all of your support.”
One Direction has a long history of kindness towards kids like Lucy. Just earlier this month, Tomlinson’s mom helped arrange a meeting with a sick child backstage in Manchester, around the same time Styles gifted a cancer-stricken teen a diamond heart-shaped necklace at one of their London shows.
