Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are being ripped by PETA over a new fur bag from their luxury line, The Row.

The actresses-turned-designers recently unveiled the patchwork purse, which retails for a whopping $16,900 and is also available with calf and alligator skin.

In a statement furnished to Gossip Cop, PETA blasts the Olsens for the product, saying, “If it looks like a troll and acts like a troll, it’s probably a Trollsen Twin — or someone wearing one of their new $16,000 totes, which are made from the fur and skins of innocent animals.”

“What the Olsens lack in creativity, they try to make up for in shock value. Sadly, it’s the foxes, calves, and alligators — who often have the fur ripped off them while they are still conscious and able to feel pain — who pay the dearest price,” the statement continues.

PETA has been calling out the Olsens for years over their use of fur, including in their own wardrobes.

If they’ve been on the Olsen twins for years & they still make things using fur, they obviously don’t care what PETA thinks. Maybe they should rethink calling people out & actually talking to them personally about what they’re using on their merchandise(if that hasn’t been done already).

What would make that REALLY attractive is some animal blood splashed on it.
You would think it would come equipped with that feature already, for $17,000+ (with tax).

Peta might get a little respect if they tried to be civil rather being a bunch of name calling A-Holes..

What does it take to get through to girls like this? Making new stuff out of fur belongs to another time and they should know all about it. No wonder people shout at them.

Although I don’t agree with PETA calling them “Trollsens”, I do concur that it is unethical and gruesome that they make such products.

I’m sorry but those girls were ugly when they were young, and haven’t improve much.

While I deplore PETA’s name calling tactics, that bag is pretty fug in more ways than one.

The only time I can accept animal testing is when the scientists are trying to cure a disease, so this really bothers me. I’m not one of those ppl who believes in throwing paint on fur that someone is wearing, but I DO think it’s horrid to raise them (usually in atrocious conditions) just to skin them so some rich woman and/or actresses –any of them, not just the twins– can wear or carry the fur simply for prestige…

at one time fur was a status symbol as in 40 years ago before there were synthetic replacements for it. but younger designers like Mary Kate & Ashley or Jennifer Lopez shouldn’t use real fur when synthetics are just as good. if somebody like Claire Newman was caught wearing fur it wouldn’t be so controversial as she’s from hollywood royalty and the furs would be handed down from her mum Joanne Woodward who has had them for 50 years so it wouldn’t look out of place.

I do have to say, that $16 000 bag is hideous. Not due to the fact it has animal fur on it, just due to the fact it’s an ugly design. That said, PETA are their own worst enemy they would be much more helpful to the fight against animal abuse if they learned to be a little more respectful to the human beings on this planet. They don’t seem to have any problem treating other people in an abusive way. Apparently unless you have fur, you really don’t matter to PETA
