Oksana Grigorieva Wants Mel Gibson Child Support Increased To More Than $100,000
As Gossip Cop has reported, Gibson and Grigorieva welcomed daughter Lucia in 2009. They had an infamously nasty split in 2010, with Grigorieva accusing the actor of domestic abuse. Audio tapes then emerged of Gibson making offensive remarks, greatly damaging his already less-than-stellar Hollywood reputation.
In 2011, he pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor battery charge, and later agreed to a custody deal with Grigorieva. The agreement called for them to share custody, and for Gibson to make a payment of $750,000 total in three installments. The last was to paid in January of 2016.
That would have worked out to about $18,000 a month, but it seems the figure was later bumped up to $20,000. But now Grigorieva is reportedly seeking a substantial increase. According to TMZ, she wants a family court to set the new monthly amount at more than $100,000.
Among Grigorieva’s arguments is that she needs more than $10,000 each month just for 6-year-old Lucia’s security alone, and wants to provide her with a high quality of life. If she and Gibson don’t reach an out-of-court settlement, the case would go to trial. The two last squared off before a judge in June 2015, when the movie star successfully fought for the right to take Lucia to Australia for a month.
A rep for Gibson declined to comment when contacted by Gossip Cop. He and Grigorieva are pictured above in 2010.
