OK! drops the ball on Alex Rodriguez proposal to Kate Hudson

Like baseball, the reporting about Alex Rodriguez and Kate Hudson is filled with a few hits and a bunch of errors.

This week OK! steps up to the plate with a story its cover promotes as “A-Rod & Kate: Marriage Proposal.”

The mag claims Rodriguez, who has been house hunting with Hudson, is looking for the approval of her mom, Goldie Hawn, to pop the question.

According to an OK! source, “Alex called Goldie and asked if she and [her partner] Kurt Russell would give their blessing to his asking Kate to marry him.”

Oddly, the magazine, which painstakingly describes how the slugger would like to propose by a fireplace as snow falls in the background, drops the ball by missing one teeny weensy detail – Hawn’s response.

A reliable source who knows the couple says the OK! article is off base.

By the way, the magazine’s same source says, “Kate has no idea that Alex is considering marriage.” But somehow OK! does?
