WATCH: President Obama Calls Harold & Kumar Star Kal Penn in DNC Promo Video

This is a big week for President Obama at the Democratic National Convention, so he’s calling on everyone for help — even stoner icons Harold and Kumar.

Well… kind of.

A new promotional spot for the DNC shows the President picking up the phone and saying, ”Hey, this is Barack. Listen, I need to know if you’re on board. OK, good, cause I’m counting on you. Everybody is. We have to get this right. So there’s a lot at stake here.”

He concludes, “Just remember that I’m trusting you on this, and I’ll see you there.”

The shot then cuts to Kal Penn and John Cho, the stars of the Harold & Kumar movies.

“Dude, who was that?” asks Cho. “Sounded intense.”

Penn replies, “The President.”

“Sweet,” says Cho, as the duo goes back to watching cartoons.

While the pair aren’t technically Harold & Kumar in the clip — nor are they smoking pot — it’s still a bit of unconventional convention promotion.
