Nyle DiMarco Wows On ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Premiere (VIDEO)
Nyle DiMarco and partner Peta Murgatroyd wowed the judges and audience alike on Monday’s “Dancing With The Stars” premiere with their cha cha to “Cake By The Ocean” by DNCE. Watch the video below.
In addition to just doing a solid performance, what made their routine spectacular is that DiMarco, who won last year’s “America’s Top Model,” is deaf. He explained after his dance via an interpreter that he “hears nothing.” DiMarco said he was able to do the dance by following Murgatroyd “with my eyes.” As Gossip Cop reported earlier, DiMarco was injured during “Dancing With The Stars” rehearsals when Murgatroyd hit him with her elbow just above his left eye, which resulted in the model having to get four stitches.
Len Goodman said he “didn’t expect that,” adding that DiMarco was “terrific” and his dance was really “well done.” Bruno Tonioli asked, “Are you for real? I have to touch you in case you’re a fantasy.” After actually touching the model, he exclaimed, “You could be America’s next top dancer.” And Carrie Ann Inaba felt he “brought the rhythm to life,” adding, “I have so much respect for you.
For DiMarco and Murgatroyd’s very first dance, they received a total of 23 out of 30 points. Check out the video below of Nyle DiMarco and Peta Murgatroyd’s cha cha to DNCE’s “Cake By The Ocean” on Monday’s “Dancing With The Stars.”
