Nothing “Straight” About New Bogus Robert Pattinson Interview

Truth rating: 0

For the second time in as many days, comments attributed to Robert Pattinson have created a tidal wave of (new) speculation among fans concerning his relationship status.

We found our inbox flooded today with links to an “interview” the “Twilight” heartthrob ”gave” on a site called SantaBanta.com in which he supposedly says, “I am pretty ‘straight’” but “I don’t have a girlfriend.” The piece received ENORMOUS pick up on other gossip sites – not surprising given what appeared to be Pattinson’s atypically blunt response to questions about his long-rumored relationship with Kristen Stewart.

The piece didn’t look or sound right to Gossip Cop, and our strong doubts about its legitimacy were well founded. A source close to Pattinson tells Gossip Cop the so-called interview is “manufactured.”

Just because they have no other content to fill the tabs/mags/gossip sites its easy for them to come up with RPatz tripe. Thanks again GC . RPatz himself says he has been cryptically avoiding the relationship question with him and Kristen on tv and has not said he is single for a long long time, when will these people take note of what he is actually saying.

Your thin fact checking may be true but how do you explain Kristen Stewart’s interview with Parade magazine, http://www.theimproper.com/?p=428, It’s entirely possible that they are creating an elaborate ruse to throw off the tabloids — including this site — but instead of debuking other articles, why don’t you come up with some independent evidence to the contrary. Good luck.. I doubt I’ll read it here..

    to Redacter,
the interview in Theimproper is an easy one. Gossip Cop doesn’t have to do the job.

Most the statements by Theimproper are from the New Moon Press Junket nov 4 and 5 in LA.
Yes, she made statements like “…get why people want us to be together I just have not to think about it. …People have a hard time to seperate …”

But she didn’t make it in a context of “I am not dating Pattinson”. She never said that! When asked in different interviews during the junket about dating Pattinson or the rumors around them she refused to give an answer!! She said clear that she is not going to answer the question, keeps things for herself.” You can watch all the interviews on Youtube.

I think it is more than annoying for a magazine to put this in her mouth, even worse in the headline.
And there are many more inaccuracies in the story.

Both actors refused during the press tour to answer this question or any question concerning their private (love) life. Anywhere, from Tokyo to Spain. And now there are manufactured interviews all over the place (and they are not only manufactured concerning the dating question).

So where do you see an elaborate ruse?
If they are dating or not that is there private life, its not my business. But I respect what they say.

yea that article was made up, they stole some quotes from this legit interview

    http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/entertainment/hollywood/news-interviews/Im-a-bore-Robert-Pattinson/articleshow/5304839.cms

where he states he’s single and plans on staying that ways.

  • Penelope

    dancing,

    concerning this “legit” interview:

    - Pattinson is not the sexiest man alive, Johnny Depp has got the title !!
    - Nothing is said about new moon, every quote is a variation of an old one. Example: “I do not have any girlfriend and neither do I want one, considering the environment I am in now.” sounds a variation of the interview he did with GQ last year when asked about Camilla Belle: “I almost don’t want to have a girlfriend, in this environment” (and this was a real one).
    - I love the fact, that he praises the an actor who refuses

  • Penelope

sorry, I got cut off by my computer. This is part II concerning times of India

Do you really believe, that someone who refuses to give comments on his personal live is making at the same time a quote like
” If I’d have a girlfriend, why would I shy away from the media glare and letting my fans know?”
And to the Times of India?
    Get real.
But I guess it makes many pepole happy and a single sells better in India

Whatever his relationship is with KS, with what happened on Saturday night when he was with his friends it’s fairly obvious that photogs in LA are never going to leave him alone. And they wouldn’t be doing this if it weren’t for the rabid fans in the US/Canada. Do his agent & manager encourage the mags to put out out-dated info to confuse everyone? They both appear useless at their jobs – other than babysitting – and he doesn’t seem to see that. Hasn’t he figured out yet that the worst place for him to be is LA? He should be in Europe away from the Ted C, etc gossip sites & away from the crazy fans. If he buys a home in LA then he really is dumb and deserves all the hassle that he gets, and as someone on a temporary working visa who has to leave once the work is done, he has no legal right to have a permanent home there anyway. I have a Green Card & I know what you can and can’t do until you get that card. She has the security of her family in LA; he has no one. He should ditch the Twilight/Hollywood rubbish and make some intelligent films in other countries, and he obviously realises that himself with Bel Ami and Unbound Captives upcoming. KS seems much younger mentally than her real age and seems very self-important, and unfortunately she seems to have an influence on him and I think will damage both him and his career. If her feelings are genuine then she should be willing to go where he is and put him first.

I wonder if the last poster could be any more judgmental. Since when would anyone’s “agent & manager” have to ENCOURAGE the mags to put out anything? That’s just plain ridiculous, as the mags put out whatever they feel like putting out on any given day (legitimate or not) to generate interest and revenue.

Who are we to suggest that we know what’s best for Pattinson or anyone else? Furthermore, he has EVERY legal right to own a residence in the U.S. … there are only restrictions on mortgages, not the property itself, and I think it’s a given that Pattinson wouldn’t need to mortgage the property.

It’s amazing to me how some people feel that they know what everyone else “should” do.

  • susiedolly

to shadowdancer – Judgmental? Because it concerns me that he doesn’t seem to have anyone who gives him good advice? Do you like to see him chased around by photogs? Do you like the idea that because the pinheaded Twilight fans have made him just about the most wanted actor in Hollywood he’s fair game for every rubbish magazine and moronic photog to hound him whenever they can? As far as a property is concerned how long do you think he’d be able to keep its location secret? As for owning a place, I’m not talking about US laws I’m talking about the implications for him from UK tax people who are tougher and more greedy than the IRS. He’s not a legal resident of the US (he’s a working visitor & a UK resident) so any money he earns in the US has to be declared to UK tax people. If he were to buy a home with cash and no mortgage they would want their share of tax from that money even though it would already have been spent. You can take tax write-offs with a mortgage but not if you’ve paid in cash. He’s working in Europe and NZ for the greater part of next year anyway so it seems pointless to buy. When and if BD is made and if he has any further work happening in the US then it would make sense. His reviews for NM were atrocious (TL got better reviews) and if they’re bad for Remember Me there may be no point in him buying a home in the US anyway. Sadly, his acting seems to have deteriorated from the days of Haunted Airman and Bad Mother’s Handbook. Perhaps it’s the Hollywood influence.
