In an article titled, “Katie Feels Trapped,” In Touch proves just how out of touch it is with claims that Tom Cruise sometimes decides on Katie Holmes’ career moves and even what she eats.

According to the story, a “friend of Katie’s” tells the weekly tab that to “rebel” against her husband’s dietary restrictions, she’s been purposely packing on the pounds. Says the so-called pal, “He usually has her on a strict diet and exercise routine, but since she’s been in Australia, she’s put on five pounds.” The source adds, “She’s been eating chocolates, potato chips and pizza. Tom has mentioned to her that she’s put on weight, but she doesn’t care.”

This story is even more full (of it) than her stomach allegedly is. A source close to Holmes tells Gossip Cop, “She’s always eaten chocolate and pizza!”

And as for his directing her career, the mag had another alleged “pal” quoted as saying, “Even her recent appearance on So You Think You Can Dance was green-lighted by Tom . . . She’s tired of it.”

What Gossip Cop is tired of are poorly reported stories. Cruise did not have to approve of her appearance on the show. Holmes wanted to dance on the program in order to introduce a new charity she started called the Dizzy Feet Foundation, which provides dance scholarships to underprivileged children. Another example of “no good deed goes unpunished” in the tabloids.

Cruise’s rep’s response to the article? “It is utter nonsense and ridiculously fabricated.”

The way the tabs keep dancing around the facts is starting to leave Gossip Cop, well, dizzy.
