Nina Dobrev Returning For “The Vampire Diaries” Series Finale
Nina Dobrev is officially returning for the series finale of “The Vampire Diaries.” The actress herself announced the news on Instagram.
Dobrev shared a photo of a script from the show marked with her name. She wrote in the caption, “I know it’s Thursday, but this is not a TBT. #BackOnSet #TVDForever.”
As Gossip Cop reported, Dobrev left The CW series in 2015, with her character Elena essentially being put into a forced slumber during the season six finale. That, of course, left the door open for a potential return. Alas, she never made an appearance during season 7.
But, as Gossip Cop reported, it was revealed last July that “The Vampire Diaries” would end with its upcoming eighth season. That renewed hope and speculation that Dobrev would come back, at least as a guest star, to tie up storylines. Now it’s officially happening.
While no plot details are known, Dobrev’s script photo indicates the episode’s working title is “I Was Feeling Epic.” The series finale is slated to air on March 10. Dobrev’s announcement comes a few months after Gossip Cop busted Celeb Dirty Laundry for ridiculously saying Kristen Stewart would appear on “The Vampire Diaries” in her place. Clearly, the webloid was embarrassingly wrong.
