“The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore” will replace “The Colbert Report” on Comedy Central after Stephen Colbert departs to take over “The Late Show” from David Letterman. On Tuesday, the new series debuted its first promo. Watch the video below!

Premiering on January 19 following “The Daily Show,” “The Nightly Show” (get it?!) will feature Wilmore offering his take on issues affecting “underdogs” of every stripe. The new series was co-created by Jon Stewart, on whose “Daily Show” Wilmore previously served as “Senior Black Correspondent.”

The promo shows Wilmore trying to convince people in a diner to give his new program a chance, promising it will look “different” than what they’re used to seeing.

“It’s about time we got our own show!” says one fellow patron, who happens to be African-American like Wilmore. The host-to-be responds, “Right, man? Brothers have been kept out of late night…” but is cut off by the man, who shoots back, “Not black people. Fat people.”

It’s not the only joking reference to Wilmore’s color. At one point, the comedian tells a waitress, “I like my coffee like I like my shows… with some half-and-half. That would be awesome. Thank you.” Check out the video below, and tell us what you think!
