Nicole Richie’s “wild and wacky food fixations are causing a mountain of stress in her marriage,” begins a piece in the National Enquirer.

According to the tabloid, Richie “refuses to eat anything but the organic fruits and vegetables from her home garden and eggs from her backyard chickens,” and it is “driving her hubby, Joel Madden, crazy.”

“Joel likes to treat their kids to a burger or an ice cream cone once a week, but Nicole won’t allow it anymore,” a so-called source tells the magazine.

The alleged “insider” goes on to say that Richie “even brings her self-harvested produce and hard-boiled eggs from her hens to restaurants and insists that chefs make her meals with them.”

Uh, huh.

Richie “insists that eating by her rules” will prevent her family from being “exposed to dangerous pesticides or genetically modified foods,” reports the tabloid.

The National Enquirer then shifts its story and speculates that the produce-filled diet “isn’t helping the weight-challenged star put on the pounds.”

“Although she has always denied eating disorders, Nicole’s friends can’t help but wonder whether she is slipping into the grips of one now,” the “source” says. “Joel is at his wits’ end over her weird food ways and even more concerned that she’s passing on her quirky habits to their kids.”

Remember, though, the Enquirer is the same outlet that falsely speculated Richie was headed toward a drug relapse, incorrectly claimed she hates Jessica Simpson, and fabricated a story about her fighting with Madden about money.

Regardless, this particular story is false.

A source close to Richie tells Gossip Cop that the National Enquirer’s latest tale is also “completely untrue.”
