Nicole Kidman: Keith Urban “Literally Carried” Me Through Grief After Dad’s Death (VIDEO)
Nicole Kidman opened up on Thursday’s “Ellen DeGeneres Show” about the recent death of her father Dr. Antony Kidman and the endless amount of support she’s received from both her husband Keith Urban and her fans.
As Gossip Cop reported, Kidman’s father, a renowned clinical psychologist, died unexpectedly last month after suffering a tragic fall in Singapore while visiting the actress’ sister Antonia Marran. The Oscar winner told DeGeneres how Urban helped her during the difficult time. “I love saying this, because he should be just adored,” she said of her husband.
The Before I Go To Sleep star continued, “He has been so good to me for nine years, but for the last sort of month, which has been a really tough time for me… When you have your partner who just literally carries you through a tough time. He’s been amazing to me… To have my husband just step up in that way it makes me cry. He is amazing.”
Kidman added that she is also grateful when people come up to her and offer their condolences, because losing a parent, she feels, isn’t something that people talk about enough. “Everybody loses their parents,” she said. “It’s awful. I am sorry to bring everybody down, but I am trying to navigate through something now.” She continued, “I’m amazed when people reach out, because it’s an awkward thing at times, but to have people go, ‘I’m so sorry for your loss,’ the power of that and even a note or anything. I’ve gotten so much love from people.” The actress further revealed during her interview that Urban writes her love letters every day whenever they are apart.
