Nicki Minaj Wax Figure At Madame Tussauds Gets Redesigned, Singer Thanks Fans
Nicki Minaj thanked fans on Friday for convincing Madame Tussauds Las Vegas to redesign the area around her wax figure, so that sexually suggestive photos can no longer be taken with it.
Minaj’s statue is a replica of the singer from her “Anaconda” music video in which she lays down on all fours with her butt up in the air. The sexual nature of the wax figure prompted many visitors to take photos while mimicking lewd acts with the statue. Those photos naturally made the rounds on the Internet, prompting controversy and fan outcry, as well as a few laughs.
Madame Tussauds has now released a statement, announcing it would be “taking immediate steps to ensure more staff are present in this area and that the set around this particular figure is redesigned so that a picture like this cannot be taken again.”
Minaj has credited her many fans with helping to get the museum’s attention about how the figure was being exploited. She tweeted, “Yo my fans r fkn crazyyyyy. Lol they get results,” adding, “teach me yall. Teach me your ways.”
The singer went on to reveal that she was amused by the whole situation, writing, “I don’t think u understand how I’m laughing right now. Like rlly Hittin ppl up, getting answers and sh*t like wtf.” Minaj further tweeted, “Like I’m off in my own lil world n yall on here gettin results like how r u so cute?”
