The much-hyped clash between Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey took center stage on Wednesday’s “American Idol.”

Viewers finally got to see what sparked the drama, which Gossip Cop first reported when it took place in October.

The conflict began as Carey, Randy Jackson and Keith Urban questioned contestant Summer Cunningham’s interest in country music.

Minaj accused the trio of “picking her apart,” while the other judges insisted they just wanted to know more in order to help.

“You’re right. I can’t help her,” replied Minaj sarcastically before storming off the set, saying, ”Maybe I should just get off the f**king panel… I’m over it.”

And that’s when things got really interesting.

    First and foremost everyone is entitle to their own opinions and this just crazy. Why American Idol? Why would you hire two divas and one has a bad attitude, can you say last season unless one of them go because no one want to see Mariah and Nicki arguing everytime the show is losing it purpose which is finding great singers and along the way keeping the audience entertain with a little bad singing for comedy relief, its just a DRAMA singing show….its almost becoming Basketball Wives Drama, ALMOST!!!!

    i just find it funny they want to act like nicki is a problem when mariah as WELL sat up in the first episode being a bitch bragging about her top singles like sorry mariah we KNOW what you have accomplished why sit up and start stuff bragging to the other artist. so idk why people kiss mariahs ass like shes innocent when she is a KNOWN diva herself. I like keith and randy but tbh id rather see someone like beyonce or carrie underwood or kelly clarkson on the panel . no need for two women who want to shine.

    randys comment at the end wasnt necessary either. that was clearly said to carry on the argument and mariah wasnt helping to me keith is the most mature one there. ever since simon left its like randy tries so damn hard to be like him. its not cute. i think the show needs a rehaul to completely be re done. I like american idol and im glad it gives people a chance to live there dream who can really sing and want to be in the business but this shit is clearly for ratings. they put hot tempered people together shit will happen. simple as that. THIS is how the panel needs to be. a artist from four different genres. pop, country, r&b. and rock or whatever. get rid of randy his time is done and get two women carrie underwood (country) and kelly clarson (pop) keep keith or switch him with a rocker, and then find a GOOD r&b artist and your problem is solved.

    This is by far the worst judging panel AI has had. The muppet’s voice drives me crazy. Ugh. The rest are a borefest. I use to like AI, but I don’t think I could touch a season of boring judges. The Voice judges had great chemistry, but boring contestants. They need to pull the plug on AI.

    Nicki was completely right in what she said. It wasn’t necessary for her to walk out, but the point is that the contestant felt backed into lying about what she really wants to sing. Keith comparing “doing the brain surgery thing” is assumptive. I bet there is an ex brain surgeon out there somewhere who realized that’s what they were raised to be but not who they wanted to be. Should they still be forced to do surgery just cuz they’re good at it? Hope not. AI is supposed to be about following your dream, right? Let the contestant sing the soulful style she wants.

    Exactly my point. I’m not fan of nicki but I do study her career. And she does always have a snippy mouth. Point is what she was saying in total was completely right. Keith got the ass over what the girl said even tho she meant no harm by it and Mariah and randy all targeted her. The fact was the girl could sing and should be on the show she can find her sound later on. The fact they all doubt teamed her Burt hurt over what she said was dumb. In THIS scenario I with nicki. Walking off wasn’t smart but she did have a point.

    This is bullshit, I’ve always loved Mariah but she thinks she’s suck a fucking queen or something. Nicki minaj was right, even tho everyone claims she’s not an artist or wat not, but they were attacking the poor girl for her being honest. I mean she did the country thing but she prefers a more soulful country. what’s the fucking problem??? And Mariah also being sarcastic, i personally would’ve lost my patience and def smacked her.

    The idea of Nikki Minaj on AI is like putting an open baby diaper with adult shit in the middle of a road. For more than a decade AI had winners that rose to fame, and people not just in America embraced the show because it took in all contestants with equal opportunity even those who didn’t deserve one second of airtime. It only means that the show deserves some decency, therefore Minaj doesnt deserve to be there. Sure she is famous, in her genre of music she is good but the image she built with her fame is trash. Let her be in her venue but sorry not in AI.

If they get rid of nicki Mariah ass need to go to. Mariah wants to be the only female there and she lets it show through her actions Mariah has a mouth that’s why nicki be losing we temper. Now she is nicki an angel? No but kit ice every time nicki goes off its cause of something Mariah said or randy. And randy always takes Mariah’s side cause he’s a kiss ass.     Rapper or not this is a “singing” contest not a rap contest and she sucks at both and has no idea what she’s doing up on that panel, nor has the credentials to back up her so called judging. The other judges were just trying to give the girl direction, people don’t know how to take constructive criticism like garbage minaj

    I personally dislike Nicki Minaj, she is full of herself! As for her singing or rapping, it really doesn’t matter what she does because whenever I hear it I turn it off. And the comment about doing the country thing is offensive because what has she even really done? Sang a couple songs in her room that are country? And Mariah Carey is a legend, a diva.. yes but she kind of has a right to be.
