WATCH: Nicki Minaj “Only” Music Video
Nicki Minaj released the official music video for “Only” on Friday, a month after the song’s controversial lyric video featured Nazi imagery. While the new video also features a gas mask, albeit briefly in the beginning, most of the imagery is S&M-related with whips and skimpy outfits. Minaj’s collaborators on the song, Chris Brown, Drake, and Lil Wayne, are also prominently featured in the video. Watch the video below, but be warned that it contains the n-word and a lot of f-bombs.
The rapper announced the new clip’s premiere only hours in advance (no pun intended), tweeting, “‘ONLY’ VIDEO DROPPIN TONIGHT!!!!! 3am EST on VEVO MIDNIGHT PST :).” The news caught many by surprise, and happily so. One fan ecstatically replied, “@NICKIMINAJ OMFG THIS IS TOO MUCH THE PINKPRINT & ONLY VIDEO ALL IN ONE DAY. #TheCryingGame literally!!! Thank u so much!!!!”
While Minaj’s “Barbz” was referring to The Pinkprint’s early release in Australia and other countries abroad, it was a big 24 hours for stateside fans, too, who won’t be able to purchase the new album until Tuesday. As Gossip Cop reported, two songs from the record surfaced online early Thursday, “Feeling Myself” featuring Beyoncé and “Get On Your Knees” with Ariana Grande. Both tracks unabashedly talk about sexual confidence. “Only” has a similar theme, and debuted in late October as the new album’s third single.
