WATCH: Nicki Minaj Cries, Goes On “Emotional Rollercoaster” In New MTV Documentary “My Time Again” Trailer
Nicki Minaj is once again getting the MTV documentary treatment. Following 2010’s “Nicki Minaj: My Time Now,” “Nicki Minaj: My Time Again” will premiere later this month. Check out the trailer below!
Cameras followed Minaj as she rehearsed dance routines, greeted fans, visited her grandma, and took part in last August’s MTV Video Music Awards. The one-minute teaser features the pre-VMAs incident in which one of the rapper’s backup dancers was bitten by a snake as they rehearsed for the show. The dancer is seen bleeding as Minaj exclaims, “Oh my god, the snake bit her!” There’s also attention paid to Minaj’s on-stage wardrobe mishap, when her dress wasn’t zipped in time for her to perform. Choreographer Casper Smart is seen saying, “Sometimes you just can’t help when things malfunction.”
Minaj also reflects on her career, and the “emotional rollercoaster” of working on her latest album, The Pinkprint. “No one could prepare for this business. Until you are in it, you really can’t wrap your brain around it,” she says. She notes at another point, “When I’m faced with crazy adversities, I turn on a switch that I don’t even know I have sometimes.”
Minaj, who is also seen crying, tells the camera, “Every human needs to push themselves past the point of breaking sometimes. If you never break, you never know how much pressure you can take.” The documentary is set to air on January 18. Watch the trailer video below!
