Nicki Minaj Fans Go CRAZY On Stunned Chrissy Teigen — What Happened?
On Thursday, Minaj debuted the booty-full cover art for “Anaconda.” When she got criticism for the provocative pose, Minaj pointed out the double standard by posting this year’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover, which features Teigen displaying her butt, alongside models Lily Aldridge and Nina Agdal. Minaj observed of the SI cover, “Angelic. Acceptable. Lol.”
It was a perfectly fair point about hypocritical media coverage. Teigen then retweeted Minaj’s message, joking, “I WILL TAKE ACCEPTABLE.” It seemed as though the supermodel was making a mild, self-deprecating comment about herself, joking that she’s not “angelic.” She later further explained that she was flattered that Minaj called her butt “acceptable,” since Teigen is always joking about how flat it is.
But many of Minaj’s fans did not take it that way and went berserk, apparently believing that Teigen had thrown shade at the performer. The stunned supermodel took to Twitter again to share some of the backlash. She began, “I just landed and I have a nicki minaj fans going absolutely bats**t on me. No idea why.” She added, “No one is ‘dragging’ anyone. Can twitter have an age limit?”
That was followed up by Teigen writing, “I don’t give one single f**k either way. You kids need the drama then go head.” After retweeting an off-color comment from an aggrieved Twitter user, the model expressed, “You kids are so angry on summer break damn we need a full school year.
She then explained, “saw she posted our cover, called our asses acceptable. Which I took as a compliment as I know I have no ass. Now pure entertainment.” Following more hatred tweeted her way, Teignen responded to a user, “I am honestly dying and crying laughing because I like nicki and this is so insanely hilarious.”
