Nick Young Reaches Settlement With Woman Who Accused Him Of Rape
Nick Young has struck a settlement with a woman who accused him of drugging and raping her back in 2011.
It was reported in May that the unidentified woman, who sued the athlete in 2013, was demanding the basketball player pay her $3 million, but Young was refusing to settle. Now the Los Angeles Lakers player, who is currently engaged to rapper Iggy Azalea, worked out a deal with the woman, but the details of their agreement are being kept confidential, reports TMZ.
The case dates back several years, with the woman alleging Young put the date rape drug GHB in her drink after the two met at Crown Bar in Los Angeles. She claims Young later took her back to his house and then raped her. The woman went to the UCLA Santa Monica Rape Treatment Center afterward, where an exam allegedly proved she had injuries similar to those that result from rape.
That said, police did not pursue criminal charges due to inconsistencies in the woman’s account. Under the name “Jane Doe,” she filed a civil lawsuit against Young in 2013, but it has now been dismissed in light of the agreement. The settlement is not meant to be a public admission of guilt on Young’s part, but simply a resolution to the legal issue. Last week, Gossip Cop busted a false tabloid story that wrongly claimed he and Azalea had split.
