Nick Lashaway Dead: Lena Dunham Mourns “Girls” Actor Killed In Car Crash
Lena Dunham is mourning Nick Lashaway. The actor, who appeared on “Girls,” died in a car accident on Sunday. He was 28.
On Instagram, Dunham posted the photo at right, along with a lengthy tribute. “Just heard the incredibly sad news that Nick Lashaway was killed in a car accident on May 8th,” she wrote. “Nick was such a talented, funny and kind person and we were so lucky to have him as a part of the ‘Girls’ family when he played Frank in episode 207.”
Dunham, who created “Girls” and stars as one of the HBO show’s leads, went on, “We will always remember the week we shared with him, his playful smile and his easy instincts and how much he made us laugh when we had to stay up all night in the woods. We are sending love to his family and friends and feeling such gratitude for his gifts.” She concluded, “RIP sweet Nick.”
The star’s death was caused by a three-vehicle crash in Framingham, Massachusetts. The cause of the accident is unknown, but Lashaway was pulled unconscious from a burning Jeep. He was treated with life-saving measures on the scene, but sadly was pronounced dead at a local hospital. The drivers of the two other vehicles were also injured.
