Nick Gordon “Maintains His Innocence,” Despite Bobbi Kristina Brown Autopsy
As Gossip Cop reported, the Fulton County Medical Examiner revealed its findings on Friday, nearly eight months after Brown’s death. The report was initially sealed by a judge due to the pending investigation into the circumstances of her medical emergency, but a news station’s request to have it be made public was granted this week. The autopsy concluded that Brown died from pneumonia brought on by drug toxicity and water immersion after she was found face-down in the bathtub in the home she shared with Gordon.
But while the cause of death is known, the manner of death remains “undetermined.” Due in part to the passage of time between the start of Brown’s health crisis and her eventual passing, the Medical Examiner was unable to figure out if it resulted from “intentional or accidental causes.” To Gordon’s attorney, that seems to be a good thing.
Lawyer Randall Kessler tells the Associated Press, “He’s always maintained his innocence. I personally hope this puts to rest all the negativity surrounding him.” Gordon himself has not publicly commented, although Gossip Cop has reached out for a statement.
It’s unclear where the criminal investigation stands, but a civil suit filed against Gordon by Brown’s conservator is ongoing. The wrongful death lawsuit accuses Brown of giving Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston’s daughter a “toxic mixture,” before dragging her to the bathtub where she drowned. Her father has publicly stated he believes Gordon is guilty of killing her, and released a statement this morning blasting the release of the autopsy “before anyone has been brought to justice for her death.”
