Nick Carter Sued By Bouncer In Florida Bar Fight
Nick Carter is being sued by a bouncer at the Florida bar where he was arrested in January. According to a lawsuit filed by Skylar Carden, the Backstreet Boy hit and choked the bouncer inside the Hog’s Breath Saloon in Key West after having earlier been thrown out of the bar. Carden is seeking unspecified damages from Carter for pain and suffering, as well as mental anguish for the attack.
As Gossip Cop previously reported, Carter and another man identified as Michael Rae Papayans showed up to the bar drunk on January 13. After being refused more alcohol and asked to leave, Papayans head-butted the bar’s manager and then Carter grabbed Carden’s throat. Other bar employees jumped in and held down the two men until the police arrived on the scene and arrested them. Carter was taken custody and released after posting $1,500 bail.
On January 23, Carter addressed the incident, tweeting, “I am human and at times it can be a struggle to balance a healthy lifestyle. I’m not perfect and for that I am sorry.” He added, “When we fall we have to get up and keep on walking. I hope you stay by my side and continue to walk with me.”
In a press release, Carden’s attorney Mark G. DiCowden said, “Nick Carter has shown the world that he is nothing more than a backstreet thug. Even though Nick Carter is a celebrity, he is no different from anyone else when it comes to respecting the rights of others.”
