Nick Cannon Announces He’s New RadioShack CCO On “Howard Stern Show”
Nick Cannon is currently best known as the host of “America’s Got Talent,” but he’s about to further test his skills as a businessman. The TV personality announced on “The Howard Stern Show” on Wednesday that he has joined RadioShack as its Chief Creative Officer. Listen below!
Cannon will take on a wide range of roles with his new gig, from growing the company’s educational and S.T.E.M (science, technology, engineering and math) initiatives nationwide to curating the in-store music selection. He’ll have an office at their headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas, but is not expected to relocate there.
The star, however, was mum on certain aspects of the new deal. He declined to give Stern his salary with the company, politely telling him, “I don’t like to talk about what I’m getting paid, but I’m doing all right.” He did share in a statement, “As a kid, spending time in my neighborhood RadioShack was invaluable. In return, I wanted to give back by fostering creative pursuits in others and helping kids move to the next level.”
Cannon has already proven himself to be a success in the boardroom. He’s the chairman of TeenNick for Nickelodeon and has worked as the network’s development and creative consultant since 2009. RadioShack actually negotiated a bankruptcy deal earlier this year, leading the new CCO to now joke, “They went out of business and Nick Cannon came in!”
