Nick Cannon Howard University Class Of 2020, Enrolls As Full-Time Student
Nick Cannon has enrolled as a full-time student at Howard University, and will work his classes around his professional obligations, including “America’s Got Talent,” Gossip Cop can confirm. We’re told he’s matriculated in the university’s communications school and is slated to be a member of the class of 2020.
A source close to the situation exclusively tells Gossip Cop that Cannon decided to go back to school at 35 because he wants to be a “well-rounded person.” And he specifically chose the college because of the “legacy of Howard,” adds our insider. In addition to navigating his way around school, like other freshman, Cannon will also juggle his entertainment career, such as hosting NBC’s “America’s Got Talent,” which is currently in production.
Cannon sparked speculation that he was a student at the historically black university when he posted an Instagram photo of himself by the school’s entrance on Saturday with a caption that read, “YOU KNOW!!!!! #HU2020 My First Day as a Freshman!!! Howard University Class of 2020.” It was unclear at the time if he was serious or whether Cannon was just a part-time student, but a source tells Gossip Cop he’s fully committed and an official announcement is set to be made on Tuesday.
This will be Cannon’s first time attending college. He was enrolled in the fictional HBCU Atlanta A&T University in the film Drumline, in which he played the lead drummer of the school’s marching band.
