Wow! Among Barbara Walters’ “10 Most Fascinating People of 2009” are the children of the Michael Jackson.

Gossip Cop can confirm that Walters tapped Jackson’s three kids, Prince Michael I, Paris and Prince Michael II (a.k.a. Blanket) for her ABC special, which airs on December 9. The news veteran, however, did not actually interview them for the show.

Other people tapped as the “Most Fascinating” include, Lady Gaga, Glenn Beck, Tyler Perry, Sarah Palin, Brett Favre, and, as Gossip Cop noted last week, Kate Gosselin, South Carolina’s First Lady Jenny Sanford whose husband Governor Mark Sanford cheated on her, and Adam Lambert

The number One Most Fascinating Person will be announced on the show.

In choosing people for the list, Walters said, “All of our subjects have been through extremely significant events in their personal lives or careers this year.”

I can’t wait. Although, really…the kids of Michael Jackson. Are they fascinating because their father died? If so, there have been a lot of fathers to have died this year, and their children are being named. Let’s let this kids have a life away from the press, Barbara.

Barbara Walters has chosen Michael Jackson’s three beautiful children to be part of her Most Facinating People Show and to be paired up with media hounds, Lady Gaga, Tyler Perry, Sarah Palin, Brett Favre, Kate Gosselin, Glenn Beck and Adam Lambert. Do these kids have no privacy rights? They are not celebrities, they are children of celebrities. (And a deceased celebrity, at that) They did not ask for or welcome this onslaught of media attention. More importantly, every single person working in the media knows that the one thing Michael put more energy and effort into than performing was caring for and protecting his children. They know that photographing, stalking, making celebrities out of his kids is the one way to utterly and completely disrespect him. Aside from the countless times he spoke the words, he made a bold statement with those scarves and masks, which was “Go on, do and say whatever you want, treat me like a circus animal, but my children are off limits.” No other celebrity has ever made that more clear. They know this. So, to not act accordingly is absolutely disgusting.
