New York Celebrities Vote On Primary Day – See Which Presidential Candidates Stars Are Supporting!
It’s New York primary day, and many of the state’s celebrities are heading out to the polls to vote for the presidential candidate of their choice. See below who the stars are supporting in the 2016 election!
Amy Schumer posted a photo of herself with an “I Voted” sticker on her nose and wearing a Hillary Clinton T-shirt, along with the caption, “Said go New York go New York go! #imwithher.” Meanwhile, Bernie Sanders supporter Susan Sarandon tweeted a picture of herself with an “I Voted” sticker on her forehead, and wrote, “Let’s do this, NY! #NYPrimary #FeelTheBern #NotMeUs.”
Julianne Moore expressed, “I just voted for @HillaryClinton #ImWithHer – vote today!” Meanwhile, outspoken Sanders supporter Mark Ruffalo urged, “Ok #NYPrimary this is the day, lets make sure you count by showing up to vote. Have a great voting day!” And Debra Messing retweeted a post from Clinton’s official campaign site that read, “New Yorkers head to the polls today. RT this if you’re voting for Hillary.”
Lin-Manuel Miranda, star of Broadway’s Pulitzer Prize-winning Hamilton, tweeted, “Good morning! We voted! If you can vote go vote!” Zoe Kazan wrote, “So excited to VOTE today in NYC!! #ImWithHer but whoever your candidate may be, get your voice heard.” Along with a photo of an “I Voted” button, Kevin Bacon noted, “Nice day for it. Just saying #Vote.” And Brooklyn resident Olivia Wilde said, “HAPPY VOTING DAY, NY!!!!! Remember, you can’t complain later if you don’t participate now. Get out there and make yourself heard.”
Bette Midler exclaimed, “PRIMARY DAY! Exercise your franchise! VOTE!!” Star Jones stated, “Today is it #NewYork! Let’s #elect @hillaryclinton #POTUS #44BoysIsEnough!” Still, there was one famous Donald Trump supporter. Former “Celebrity Apprentice” contestant Omarosa Manigault, tweeted, “Good morning NEW YORK! Let’s go!! VOTE for @realDonaldTrump TODAY!!”
There were also a handful of non-New York celebrities who took to social media to implore citizens to vote. Danny Glover, who attended a Sanders rally in Queens on Monday night, wrote, “New Yorkers: Make sure you vote tomorrow!” Justin Long, who went to a Sanders rally in Brooklyn on Sunday, similarly expressed, “New Yorkers! Vote your asses off today! Like it or not, I’m hugging anyone who does #UnsolicitedAffection #NYPrimary.” And Sanders backer Danny DeVito said, “Vote Today! Let’s do it NY!!! Polls close at 9 PM!”
Chaz Bono wrote, “It’s up to you, New York, New York! #GoHillary2016,” while Connie Britton said, “NYers get out and vote today!” Kareem Abdul-Jabbar tweeted, “New Yorkers prefer an experienced diplomat vote #HillaryClinton.” Sarah Silverman asserted, “NEW YORKERS VOTE … OR YOU CANT COMPLAIN,” before joking, “It’s your doody. (sic) (sick).” And finally, Shailene Woodley posted a photo of herself in bed with a laptop, and captioned it, “Been making phone calls for @BernieSanders from bed this am! we need every #bernie supporter to volunteer today!”
