NeNe Leakes Joins Reboot Of Game Show “To Tell The Truth” As Celebrity Panelist
NeNe Leakes will be a celebrity panelist on ABC’s reboot of the classic ’60s game show “To Tell the Truth,” it was announced on Wednesday. News of Leakes’ new gig comes just two days after she announced that she’s leaving the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” after nearly eight years as a cast member on the Bravo show. The six-episode series will be hosted by Anthony Anderson and will include Betty White as a panelist. Two other celebrity panelists have yet to be announced. Interestingly, White was a panelist on the original show.
The premise of the show is three contestants all claim to be a person of notoriety, typically someone with an unusual or remarkable occupation, talent, or experience. One of the contestants is actually that person, while the other two are impostors. Four celebrity panelists then ask a series of questions to try and figure it out who’s telling the truth and who’s lying about their identity.
Producers of the “To Tell the Truth” reboot describe the upcoming show as an “anarchic and funny reimagination” of the original. Among the modern new twists is the celebrity panelist with the lowest score will have to tweet an outrageous lie about themselves. ABC has yet to set an air date for the series.
Leakes is ecstatic about her new job. She wrote on Twitter, “When one door closes, another door opens!!!! Your girl is returning to primetime network TV.” Are you excited Leakes has joined the new version of “To Tell the Truth”?
