REPORT: American Express Sues Nelly for Unpaid Bill

American Express is reportedly suing Nelly for failing to pay his bill.

He is said to have run up $20,403.64 in charges, leading AmEx to file a lawsuit against him in Missouri.

The rapper, whose real name is Cornell Iral Haynes, is being sued for his unpaid balance and another $3,000 in legal fees, according to TMZ.

A court hearing is scheduled for January 9.

    Creditors shouldn’t have the power to sue those that owe money to them, no matter the amount. In the end it’s the creditors fault.

    How is it a creditors fault that didn’t pay his bill? If creditors didn’t have he power to force collection , no one would pay their bill. Your statement doesn’t even make sense. It’s the creditors fault Nelly spent money he didn’t have? Umm…ok.

    Why did they let it go so far? 20k is pretty high, I would’ve done something the first time he didn’t pay.

    Real Question Is Did Nelly Avoid The Bill Like Most Of America Would’ve Done i know alot of people who don’t pay there bill and avoid Bill collectors all together because they have no intention on paying the bill… Nelly on the other hand most likely has the 20k could they not contact him or something?

    I know it is almost like they set him up.I am sure both parties knew the bill wasn’t paid so why not take the necessary procedure before it hit 20k.If they see he wasn’t paying or taking steps to pay the bill why not cut him off.I mean most of these companies give special treatment to celebrities and most of the time it is the celebrities that end up screwing them.When it comes to bills and debt it shouldn’t matter if you are a celebrity or a regular working person.How many celebrities have screwed these companies and they never learn so it is hard to feel bad for them.And they have the nerve to say that it is the regular people who work hard everyday and struggle to pay their bills who are the risk………………..Go figure.
