Neil Patrick Harris has confirmed his exit from Hedwig and the Angry Inch, less than a week after winning a Tony Award for the role.

The actor is slated to leave the Broadway production in August.

He will be replaced by Andrew Rannells in a limited run.

Rannells, a stage and screen veteran, was a Tony nominee in 2012 for The Book of Mormon.

He previously played Hedwig in a 2001 Austin production.

“I couldn’t be prouder to be joining @HedwigOnBway ! I’m honored & excited to try and fill the big heels @ActuallyNPH will be leaving behind,” Rannells tweeted on Thursday.

Harris originated the part in the Broadway revival in April, and has been taking the project quite seriously.

His last performance will be August 17, with Rannells taking over on August 20.
