Neil Patrick Harris’ Christmas Gift Idea: Tell People To Watch The Oscars! (VIDEO)
Neil Patrick Harris stars in a new Christmas-themed promo for the Academy Awards. As Gossip Cop reported, the actor is slated to host the 2015 Oscars in February. Check out the video below!
In the short clip, which was released on Christmas Day, Harris says, “This holiday season, give your family a gift they’ll never forget. Instead of traditional presents, give them the gift of simply telling them to watch me host the Oscars.” The star, dressed in a tuxedo with a festive red scarf, stands by a giant Oscar statue that’s surrounded by Christmas gifts.
Harris’ hosting gig was announced in October. As Gossip Cop reported at the time, the reveal was made in a short video in which he amusingly crossed “Host the Oscars” off his bucket list. He follows 2014 host Ellen DeGeneres, and brings with him tons of experience after prior gigs with the Emmys and Tonys. The 87th Academy Awards will take place on February 22.
We have a feeling, however, that Harris didn’t take his own advice, but gave actual gifts to his family and friends, including his adorable kids Gideon and Harper. He and husband David Burtka took the twins out for their traditional Christmas Eve dinner on Wednesday, a Feast of the Seven Fishes, during which Harris said they were in “holiday heaven.” See photo below.
Harris also shared a Christmas Eve message to fans, tweeting, “Merry Christmas Eve! Hope your night is filled with love – whether it be by romance, friendship, or random circumstance. ‘Tis the season!” Watch the Oscars Christmas promo video below!
