National Enquirer story on Simon Cowell and Ryan Seacrest is a joke

If you used to tune into “American Idol” not for the singing, but rather to listen to Simon Cowell and Ryan Seacrest joke about each other’s sexual preference, you’re going to hate season 9, says the National Enquirer.

According to the tabloid’s story — picked up by other outlets — “Idol execs have warned” Cowell and Seacrest to “cut out their usual gay banter.” With Ellen DeGeneres “coming on board, an effort is being made to make her feel welcome” and so “no more ribbing each other about being gay,” says an unnamed source.

The fact of the matter, as far as Gossip Cop can tell having called around, is that this story is made up. In fact, one well-placed individual tells Gossip Cop ”it’s total crap.”
