National Enquirer calls off Mel Gibson wedding

For months on end, the National Enquirer has been reporting that Mel Gibson was going to get married this December in his private chapel near Malibu. And for an equal amount of time Gossip Cop has been reporting there was NO such wedding in the works
Now the Enquirer has a story titled, “Mel Calls Off Wedding.” Huh?
How exactly does one call off a wedding that was never happening in the first place?
Nevertheless, the Enquirer has a so-called “family friend” saying, “The lightbulb finally went on… Mel realized not only was Oksana Grigorieva alienating him from his children, but she also was incredibly self-absorbed. Her career and not their happiness is her No. 1 priority.” The supposed source adds, “His kids and friends have been telling him for months that Oksana was using him for money and fame, and finally he saw it for himself.”
But that’s not all, according to the Enquirer. The tab’s source says Gibson “fears he’s actually falling back in love” with his estranged wife Robyn, and realizes “now how good he had it with her,” as opposed to with Grigorieva. The alleged “friend” claims, “It’s ‘me, me, me!’ all the time with Oksana. Mel felt he had no choice but to put the brakes on the wedding… Mel and Oksana are still together – but barely.”
All right, Gossip Cop has heard enough. We’ve told you from the beginning that talk of a wedding was wrong, and so too are the latest smears against Gibson and Grigorieva. And if you don’t believe us, a rep for Gibson called the Enquirer’s story “total BS.”
