Nastia Liukin Earns First 10 Of The Season On Dancing With The Stars (VIDEO)
Nastia Liukin impressed the judges with her Argentine tango on Monday’s “Dancing With the Stars.” Liukin and her partner Derek Hough received the first 10 of the season, following their sultry routine to “Variations on Dark Eyes” by Lara St. John. Watch the video below.
Monday’s “Dancing With the Stars” theme was “My Most Memorable Year.” For that, Liukin dedicated her routine to 2008, the year she represented the U.S. in the Beijing Olympics and became a gold medalist. Julianne Hough was clearly impressed with the gymnast’s performance, saying, “You nailed it in 2008 and you nailed it tonight!” Carrie Ann Inaba exclaimed, “That was incredible! That was fantastic… I mean this is week four and you are already bringing out routines like this.” Bruno Tonioli told the pair the dance was a “stunner.” He added, “It was full of exhilarating shapes… Tonight we have two masters, you two.” And Len Goodman praised the couple, saying it “was a fantastic dance,” but felt it lacked “character.”
So how did the couple do? Liukin and Hough received a score of 36 out of 40 from the judges. Last week, the pair tied for first place with Riker Lynch and Allison Holker after receiving a score of 34.
