Muhammad Ali Funeral Live Stream: Watch Memorial Service Online
A funeral for Muhammad Ali will be held in Kentucky on Friday, and a live stream has been made available for viewing. Watch below.
As Gossip Cop has reported, Ali died last Friday at the age of 74 after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. On Thursday, a Muslim prayer service was held in his honor. Now, exactly one week after his death, funeral proceedings have begun.
On Friday morning, a procession started through Ali’s hometown of Louisville. Dozens of cars traveled through the city’s streets as mourners gathered roadside to pay respects to the legendary boxer as his hearse passed destinations including the Ali Center, Muhammad Ali Boulevard, and his childhood home. The procession was designed to lead to a local cemetery, where Ali would be buried in a private ceremony.
Following that, an afternoon memorial service will take place at the KFC Yum! Center. More than 15,000 tickets were handed out to fans, and a number of celebrities are expected to be in attendance as well. Among them will be Will Smith, who was chosen to be a pallbearer.
Those giving eulogies will include Bill Clinton and Billy Crystal, as well as Bryant Gumbel. Ali himself specified all his desired funeral arrangements before his passing. And with many dignitaries scheduled to attend, the public memorial will certainly be fit for a champ. The service live stream is slated to begin at 2 p.m. Eastern. Stay tuned.
UPDATE: After a delay of more than an hour, the memorial service has now begun. Watch below.
