Amy Schumer opened the 2015 MTV Movie Awards with a series of movie spoofs before launching into a joke-laden monologue. See video below.

The show kicked off with Schumer finding out she’d been chosen to host the ceremony, and her preparation included parodies of or nods to Boyhood, Pitch Perfect, Divergent, Whiplash, The Fault in Our Stars, and The Hunger Games. Brittany Snows, J.K. Simmons, and Elizabeth Banks all made appearances. The pre-taped bit ended with Schumer making her grand entrance on the Movie Awards stage at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live.

Unfortunately, Schumer intended to signal the official start to the show by firing an arrow, a la The Hunger Games, but had some difficulties. Like any great comedienne, though, Schumer then worked the mishap into her monologue speech, revealing, “I got trained, no joked, five hours in archery.” The star then introduced herself by saying, “Half of you don’t know who I am and half of you think I’m Meghan Trainor.”

Schumer went on to make jokes about one of the night’s honorees, Kevin Hart, and lobbed a number of sexually-explicit quips. She also made a dig to at MTV herself. The host promised that, unlike at other awards shows, winners can speak as long as they’d like without fear of getting played off stage. “MTV is the one network that refuses to play music, so don’t worry,” she told the audience to many laughs.

Earlier in the day, noting how her hosting the awards show would be opposite the season premiere of “Game of Thrones,” Schumer tweeted to fans to “choose me and the @mtv Movie Awards tonight” because it was “like GOT but with no incest!” She then added, “Maybe a lil.” She also tweeted a photo of herself with Hillary Clinton, who announced her candidacy for president on Sunday, with the message, “Hey if you’ve got nothin else goin today. I can get you backstage at the #MTVMovieAwards @HillaryClinton.”
