Nicki Minaj hosts the 2014 MTV EMA in Glasgow on Sunday. The award show takes place at 9 p.m. CET, 4 p.m. Eastern Time. It will not air live in the United States, but be broadcast by MTV at 7 p.m. Eastern. In the meantime, check out the red carpet photos below!

Not only is this the 20th anniversary of the EMAs, but it’s also the first time the Europe Music Awards are being held in Scotland since 2003, as the event takes place in a different city each year. MTV says the EMAs is a “global celebration of the hottest stars in music,” one that “recognizes artists from around the world and across genres, and brings together music fans everywhere for a one-of-a-kind experience in the weeks leading up to and at the show.”

Indeed, anticipation for the EMAs only grew over the last few weeks, as various fan bases competed on social media to score certain awards for their preferred music superstar. The majority of categories, however, are not decided by viewers, who ultimately have to tune in to find out the winners. This year’s nominees include Eminem, Katy Perry, Iggy Azalea, Pharrell, Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, 5 Seconds of Summer, Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, Lorde, Fall Out Boy, Lana Del Rey, Kanye West, Drake, One Direction, Paramore, 30 Seconds to Mars and many more. There’s also a slew awards specific to virtually every region of the globe.

In addition to hosting, Minaj is also expected to perform, as will her “Bang Bang” collaborator Ariana Grande. Alicia Keys, U2, Sheeran, Charlie XCX, and Enrique Iglesias are also among the acts taking the stage. Calvin Harris, however, pulled out of the event on Saturday, citing an illness. Ozzy Osbourne will receive the Global Icon Award.
