Moushumi “The Voice” Audition Video: Indian Singer Turns Three Chairs – WATCH!
Moushumi moved three coaches to hit their buttons “The Voice” season 10 on Monday. Watch below!
On the fifth and final episode of this season’s blind auditions, the 22-year-old explained that she took a year off from medical school in India to pursue music. She thought she’d have an “edge” singing a male artist’s song for the panel. And it looks like both decisions were the right ones.
As soon as Moushumi started performing Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game,” Blake Shelton exclaimed, “Woah! Hit your button!” His team was already filled up, but Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, and Pharrell didn’t let the opportunity go to waste. Shelton told the aspiring star afterward, “My team is full, but I would’ve freakin’ hit my button in a heartbeat for you… I fully expect to see some claws come out on this one, ’cause you’re worth fighting for.”
Christina Aguilera told Moushumi, “I definitely waited to push my button for something truly special, and I have nothing like you on my team. I really think we can do something that hasn’t been done on the show before.” Meanwhile, Pharrell said he found it “crazy the way you navigated around the song and made it your own thing.”
“This is something new and different,” said the producer. Adam Levine agreed, telling the contestant, “Your voice is so unique. I’ve never heard something so glassy. I want to help you succeed on the show.” But Pharrell gave one more pitch, saying, “I don’t think I’ve ever met an Indian girl who sings the way you do.”
And with that, Moushumi chose Pharrell to be her coach. Check out the full video below!
