Morgan Freeman Not Picky About His Weed (VIDEO)
Morgan Freeman reveals that he’s not too picky when it comes to his weed. The actor also expresses he’s “not quite sure” there’s a diversity issue in Hollywood. Watch the videos below.
During an interview on “Larry King Now,” Freeman says he’s not too choosy about what type of pot he smokes. “I’m not that much of a connoisseur, so I don’t know what strains are,” he tells Larry King. “If you have some good smoke, try this, yeah.” The actor thinks marijuana will be legalized everywhere eventually. “They can’t continue to say that it’s a dangerous drug when it’s safer than alcohol,” says Freeman.
King also addresses Hollywood’s diversity issue with Freeman, something the actor believes goes way beyond Oscar nominations. “I’m not quite sure there is a diversity issue,” says the Oscar winner. He explains, “The fact that there were no blacks nominated for an Academy Award, OK fine. There are many a years when there aren’t, but you know, there were no Asians either. I think if we are going to talk about diversity in movies, let’s not talk about the Academy Awards.”
Freeman feels its the infrastructure in the entertainment industry that’s the problem, even calling out King’s lack of diversity with his own staff. “That’s an outcome, that’s the end line. We need to go way, way back. We need to go back to the people who are making the movies — the directors, the producers, the people who are behind the camera,” says the star, before turning to survey the room in which the interview was conducted. “I don’t see nobody black behind the camera in here.” Watch the videos below of Freeman talking to Larry King on Ora.tv about weed and Hollywood diversity.
