‘Lion King’ Claws Aheads of ‘Moneyball’ For First Place at Box Offfice

The Lion King 3D has clawed ahead of Brad Pitt‘s Moneyball for first place at the box office this weekend with a take of $22.1 million.

Moneyball, a true-life baseball story which also stars Jonah Hill and Philip Seymour Hoffman, slid into second with $20.6 million.

Coming in a close third is the kiddie flick, Dolphin Tale, which earned $20.3 million at the box office.

Taylor Lautner‘s Abduction and the Jason Statham-Clive Owen release Killer Elite, were the fourth and fifth place winners with $11.2 million and $9.5 million, respectively.

Rounding out the Top 10 were Contagion ($8.7 million), Drive ($5.8 million), The Help ($4.4 million), Straw Dogs ($2.1 million), and I Don’t Know How She Does It ($2 million).

    I agree with Blaze Gunn, I went with my friend who´s a big Taylor Lautner fans and I really liked the movie and Taylor Lautner is definitely a good actor in this movie. He´s still young, he´s learning and will grow up in the acting business and will shut the mouth of HATERS.

    The only people who will enjoy this movie are teenage girls who have crushes on Taylor ( once again ladies, you’re not his type) The script is laughable and the direction is just awful. The acting was just as bad. Anyone over the age of 13 should avoid this movie like the plague.

    Anybody who has observed Brad Pitt over the years, knows he has always had a strong and good personality so they didn’t buy into any of the media spin regarding him. Entire decades sitting on a couch? He had an active career and life. He was engaged in humanitarian work for years but chose to become involved in a direct and intimate level later on. He had many of those interests like riding motorcycles, the environment, wanting to produce, and tons of interests way before Jolie. The media throws out one pathetic, outrageous angle to misportray him…like a shallow fool, you chose to believe it.
    A lot of Aniston’s appeal, persona, and image as the Golden Girl and being America’s sweetheart came from Pitt in the first place. She was even lame enough to use his special about grizzly bears on Animal Planet, pretend to be interested in architecture for a magazine, make phony comments about wanting a big family and motherhood, contrive attention by suddenly being involved in more charity causes, and just co-opted Pitt’s real personality for her own fake image. So much of Aniston’s popularity is tied to Pitt, yet you are claiming Pitt just copied Jolie when his life before her contradicts that. He always expressed an interest in society, culture, politics, had an adventurous flair for activities, and having a big family.

    Aniston is the ultimate liar, fraud, and hypocrite for how she is once again using her PR team to slander Pitt while everybody ignores how she lead a smear campaign against Pitt for years which made the majority of people adopt into a false impression of their breakup that was caused by tabloid rumors, ugly presumptions, destroy his reputation, continue to build up a wonderfully fake image of herself at his expense, had her friends underhandedly trash to him magazines about everything whether it be Plan B, having kids with Angelina, pretty much almost everything. She spent years non-stop painting a negative and wildly inaccurate portrait of the breakup and their personalities. She went into far more scathing detail. Even recently while she was promoting Horrible Bosses, she played that card. However, she is a crafty genius and great PR manipulator whose tons of ugly comments about referring to Pitt as a jerk, ex from hell, scumbag, deceitful, idiot, and etc were all subversive because she used her sources ( ie cronies) to spout trash to the magazines and newspapers indirectly so she could keep her hands clean.

    Pitt has never responded to her Vanity Fair interview, Newsweek, Vogue, GQ, or the multitude of false claims from her that went way beyond rude or inappropriate as she chose to paint his Parade interview which was unfavorably edited and had to deal with tons of biased, misleading headlines acting like it was horrible when any sane person would not label that inflammatory especially compared to what Aniston has said & implied about him. Pitt has never tried to expose Aniston for who she is and what the toxic dynamic of the media is by continuing to buildup mileage out of a pseudo-scandal that is the basis of their spin.

    It is crazy how people are obsessed with trolling Pitt. Gossip Cop is supposed to be about busting dirt and yet these pages tend to be occupied with the lowest life forms who spread the dirt & corruption.

    Moneyball is a genre movie and 19.5 is still a good debut. It beat industry expectations. This is a drama that is getting rave reviews and will be up for Oscar contention. Pitt gave an impressive performance. This past weekend was a recording breaking weekend for that time slot. Moneyball and Dolphin Tale fared better than expected with Lion King 3d as competition.

    Aniston’s PR camp is the most sleazy, manipulative, calculating, and hypocritical PR team ever. She thinks it is okay for her to play dirty and slander him constantly. She campaigned all over the industry and through media outlets ( most of her trash & information being provided subversively by using her friends to talk trash), some of her trashing from her lackies was very open and continued to show her claims went against the evidence. Aniston is an egomaniac who thinks she is entitled to more respect and consideration than anybody else. She thinks it is okay to mistreat and destroy others but she covers it up well by using her management and friends to do most of the dirty work. She has fanned the tabloid flames often and yet she is acting like Pitt has no right to say anything. He is still being held accountable over lies and bs. He still has not responded to her Vanity Fair interview or any of her sabotage or slander. Aniston’s PR camp have a history of badmouthing him and using the same spin about the pseudo-scandal to get attention. The media has a history of creating controversy, misportraying his and Jolie’s words, and planting statements in interviews by also circulating inflammatory headlines. Most guys would have called out Aniston back in 2005 but Pitt never has because he is too nice and he realizes that Aniston managed to get herself in a powerful position by playing the victim card. She is the one who has engaged in a war of words that has been one-sided but Pitt is the one who gets wrongly depicted that way over comments that were twisted around.

    What is insane is the cover-up of the truth. The media and Aniston’s team is so threatened by any slight hint of negativity or truth being exposed. Aniston gets away with all of her lying, manipulating, deceiving…and the media gets to continue with all of its lying, manipulating, and deceiving. This cycle of spin gets to rage for more than six years using a false premise of infidelity that came from gossip that caused everything to be misportrayed in a contradictory manner.

    Pitt has tried his best to avoid discussing that marriage as much as possible. He has been nothing but passive and tight-lipped. He has shown a great detail of restraint towards the media and especially the corruption of Jennifer’s PR team but he is forced to apologize and compliment Aniston over her fragile ego because she can’t handle even the slightest access into reality. She was even pathetic enough to discuss the furniture to criticize Pitt and create negative implications. She and her friends twisted around and misportrayed every single aspect to the nth degree yet the media is painting Pitt as a bastard for inferences he did not even make. If he were to ever open up completely and expose Aniston for who she is, it would be an in-depth interview where he goes into detail and brings up the evidence of her lies. Not randomly spout an aside about the marriage that didn’t even make sense in the context of the interview. That interviewer set him up.

    He did not cheat on her. It is immoral beyond belief for bastards to degrade a good man this way. They continue to make this spin go out of control. Pitt rarely has issued clarifications in light of the tons of ugly lies the media spreads against him but the media is going on a rampage against his clarifications because they twist around his words in interviews. They leave out comments and add in others. He issued clarifications in 2006, 2008, and 2009 because the media planted statements in both his and Jolie’s interviews to mislead people into thinking they confessed. The media fabricated a comment about
    Pitt insulting Cruise and they twisted around Jolie’s words about international adoption & Madonna. Those were the few times they issued clarifications. Pitt had to go on The Today show, because even with his clarifications, the media incorporates their spin.

    Off the record, the interviewer asked him about those accusations of cheating. He denied it. Then the reporter asked him why he really ended his marriage with Jennifer Aniston. He didn’t reply much but just said that he was tired of pretending that it was something that it wasn’t. That is all he said and the creep who interviewed him added that into the official interview when he was discussing something else entirely and made no direct mention of Aniston in the actual interview. The other comment that Aniston is petty enough to flip out over…over the marriage to Aniston had something to do with it when he was discussing how his life was interesting, was clearly inserted by the magazine. They even put that phrase in brackets which does not fit coherently into the rest of the sentence.

  • Concerned about the World

    Brad did not cheat on anybody. His romance with Jolie began three months after his separation was annouced. There was virtually no evidence or indications of an affair outside of the tabloid gossip which had no merit. What is crazy, is that most of the world seemed to have amnesia when it came to assessing Pitt’s personality over the years as well as his behavior during his relationships. Gwyneth and Jill cheated on him! He was always well-reputed to have strong morals, be passionate about his mate, and be a nice guy. All of his behavior still reflects that. He always had a great personality which the world fell in love with so he became the golden boy and then he has only improved with age.

    I was so PROUD of his acting in Moneyball. He showed such range and is maturing greatly as a leading man too. The movie deserves all of the critical acclaim it is getting. Moneyball is the type of movie that ordinarily would not open well due to it being a genre movie about baseball statistics that is more dialogue than action-centric. Pundits were predicting it would make about 11-15 mil in its debut but it exceeded that with 19.5. Both Moneyball and Dolphin Tale were excellent. Lion King is Disney’s finest masterpiece, so of course people want to see it in 3D.
