Mo’ne Davis Tries To Strike Out Jimmy Fallon In Wiffle Ball Showdown (VIDEO)
Little League sensation Mo’ne Davis faced off against Jimmy Fallon on Friday’s “Tonight Show.” The 13-year-old tried to strike out the late-night host using wiffle balls.
Davis, who made history when she became the first girl to throw a shutout in the Little League World Series, stood next to Fallon as he introduced her catcher Scott Bandura. The late-night host noted that the two have been playing together since they were seven-years-old. They then had an impromptu dance party before Fallon invited “Tonight Show” announcer Steve Higgins to the stage to serve as the umpire for the game.
“Everybody knows that Mo’ne has a killer fast ball and a wicked curve,” explained Fallon, “but not everyone knows that I have a reputation as a great hitter, not a baseball hitter, but a wiffle ball hitter. Davis was given 10 pitches in which to pitch strikes while Fallon did his best to hit the ball. She did not seem intimidated by Fallon’s talent or trash talk. Davis mostly whizzed the ball by the talk show host, who only connected a couple of times with the wiffle ball. Davis also beaned Fallon, which may have been on purpose.
