Mitt Romney to Appear on Saturday Night Live?
6:22 pm, April 16th, 2012
Mitt Romney says he’s considering an offer to appear on “Saturday Night Live.”
“I haven’t made a decision on that, just heard about it,” the soon-to-be Republican nominee for president tells Diane Sawyer of ABC News.
He adds, “Of course, it would depend on the nature of the skit. I want it to be funny.”
“SNL” executive producer Lorne Michaels has invited Romney, portrayed by Jason Sudeikis on the show, to appear.
Romney tells Sawyer that he finds Sudeikis’ portrayal to be “very good.”
For years, political leaders — including Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton — have poked fun at themselves in “SNL” appearances, although few moments have generated as much buzz as Sarah Palin’s guest turn during the 2008 campaign.
