Misty Upham Dead: Body Of Missing Actress Found And Identified By Family
UPDATE: Misty Upham is dead. Around 11 p.m. on Thursday, a spokesperson for the family told outlets that the body found earlier in the day (see below) is indeed the 32-year-old missing actress.
The spokesperson says Upham’s body was discovered by a search party of three people, including her uncle. The identification was later made by her father.
A press conference will reportedly be held on Friday regarding Upham’s manner of death, though in comments to Deadline, the rep accuses police of not doing enough to find her alive.
Tracy Rector, a family friend and filmmaker says, “The main thing her family wants people to know is that the Auburn Police Department would not cooperate in looking for Misty. There’s a long history of police harassment and friction between the police and the Muckleshoot community here, and her family feels they dropped the ball and Misty perhaps would have been found if the police had taken it seriously.”
Rector echoes those sentiments to THR, and further says, “The family has stated that, after seeing the body, they still do not feel that Misty Upham committed suicide.”
