Miranda Lambert: Music Helped “Heartache And Healing” After Blake Shelton Divorce
Miranda Lambert is crediting music with helping her get though the past year, which she notes was marked with “heartache and healing” and “finding peace in dark places,” following her divorce from Blake Shelton. The singer, who just released the song “Vice,” posted a message on Instagram that details how music saved her.
Alongside a snapshot of her song “Vice” topping the iTunes chart, Lambert wrote, “The last year of my life has been one of heartache and healing… Of learning to be honest… Accepting the flaws and celebrating the smiles. Finding peace in dark places… having some moments alone with me. Facing fears and feelings… All of them.”
Lambert further explained, “I got to know my guitars… became friends with a pencil and paper… Used melodies to lead me places I had never been…. Made music with my friends. Because music is medicine.” She then thanked her fans for “joining me on this journey,” adding the hashtag “#musicismedicine.”
This is actually not the first time Lambert has used the hashtag “#musicismedicine.” A week and a half after she and Shelton announced their divorce in July 2015, Lambert and Shania Twain had a “girl night” out in Nashville, following the latter’s concert there, and she used the same hashtag to chronicle that evening. Since then, Lambert has “healed” enough to now be dating musician Anderson East and release new music.
