WATCH: Miranda Lambert Cries On Stage Two Days Before Blake Shelton Divorce Announcement (VIDEO)
While performing at Cheyenne Frontier Days, Lambert started to sing “The House that Built Me” when she broke down into tears and asked the crowd to finish the lyrics for her. “The House that Built Me” was originally written for Shelton, but he passed it along to Lambert. She recorded the track, and it was featured on Lambert’s 2009 album Revolution, becoming a huge hit.
While Lambert (pictured above last month) was performing in Wyoming without her wedding ring Saturday, her soon-to-be ex-husband attended the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Sunday. “The Voice” coach was wearing his own wedding band, and appeared to be a good mood (see photos below).
As Gossip Cop reported, Shelton filed for divorce from Lambert two weeks ago, and the pair announced the sad news earlier Monday. In a joint statement, the country stars said that while it isn’t “the future we envisioned,” “it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately.” Shelton and Lambert, who have reached a divorce settlement based on their prenuptial agreement, haven’t mentioned each other on social media in quite some time, skipping over their anniversary and Shelton’s birthday.
