Mindy McCready Shot Dog Before Killing Herself, Says Sheriff

Mindy McCready appears to have shot and killed her late boyfriend’s dog before committing suicide on Sunday.

Marty Moss, the Cleburne County Sheriff, says the country singer apparently shot her beau David Wilson’s pet before turning the gun on herself.

Their bodies were reportedly discovered next to each other on the front porch of her home in Heber Springs, Arkansas.

Wilson’s own shooting death last month is being investigated.

During a “Today Show” appearance in January, McCready declared her innocence in that incident.

While McCready’s death has not been officially labeled a suicide, authorities say “all indicators” point to it.

    I keep reading and hearing about all of her “friends” that are so devastated. But I have a question, where were these friends while she was battling her demons, especially most recently? It sounds like she shouldn’t have been alone in the state of mind that she was in.

    But R.I.P. My heart goes out to her boys.

    I don’t know what demons possessed Mindy, I feel awful when someone feels that the only way to have peace of mind is to end it all, but why have others suffer for it as well. I love animals just as much as humans and why do those who want to end their lives, in some instances take other loved ones and their pets with them. Thank goodness they took the kids, I would hate to think what she might have done if they were still with her. I hope this is not one of the factors that pushed her over the edge, the taking of her two children. I hope she never considered taking her kids with her if they were still with her. Hope her children receive so much support, especially her six year old.

    Why the dog? Poor thing that was so unnecessary. I’m just glad she didn’t involve her sons. That’s all too common these days. :(

    I don’t know the complete ins and outs of this story, but I imagine it was a “We could all be together on the Other Side” kind of thing… No matter what happened it’s incredibly sad, I wish their souls and remaining loved ones peace…

    There is the possibility that she just did not show that she had any troubles (even though her boyfriend/husband was dead) or told them what is wrong. A year ago a friend of mine commited suicide. Suddenly and without showing signs that he was troubled. He had a new girlfriend and a good job…so…

    My thoughts goes to those boys as well. It’s going be hard for them without a family.

    Edit: Who are going to bring them up? Grand parents or other next of kin?
