Mindy Kaling: I Am NOT Writing Tell-All Book With B.J. Novak! (PHOTO)
Mindy Kaling is shooting down a New York Daily News report that claimed she and B.J. Novak were writing a “juicy” tell-all book about their “off-and-on romance” and “complicated courtship.”
“Thanks for asking about the book @bjnovak and I are working on! It’s not a tell-all, sadly,” Kaling tweeted Tuesday. “I can say it’s going to be really funny and cool…” She added, “I swear I’m not trying to be mysterious! We are just starting work on it.”
The “Mindy Project” star went to write, “Here’s a cool pic of us brainstorming ideas.” But Kaling amusingly posted a photo of the Arnold Lobel children’s book characters Frog and Toad eating cookies (see below). As Gossip Cop previously reported, Kaling is also working on her second essay collection, entitled Why Not Me?, which is slated to be released in September.
Kaling may provide more details on both new projects at BookCon, which will be held in New York City on Saturday. Novak is expected to be on hand to lead a discussion with his ex about Why Not Me?. The former “Office” co-stars and writers had an on-and-off relationship for several years, and have remained close friends and collaborators since their split. What do you think of Kaling and Novak working on a book together?
