Miley Cyrus Performs “Hands Of Love” From “Freeheld” For First Time On “Ellen”
Miley Cyrus performed “Hands Of Love” on Friday’s “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” the first time she’s given a performance of the Freeheld theme song. Watch below!
As Gossip Cop reported, “Hands Of Love” debuted last month in a trailer for Freeheld. The movie stars Julianne Moore and Ellen Page as a couple who fight for equal benefits rights. It is based on the real-life story of Laurel Hester, a terminally-ill police officer who fought for her partner to receive her pension.
Linda Perry wrote the song, which was released as a single earlier this month, and joined Cyrus for the “Ellen” performance. Page was also on the show, and sat down for an interview with the host, opening up about the film and her own sexual identity. In one of the episode’s lighter moments, Cyrus and DeGeneres played a curious-looking “wrecking ball” game to raise money for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Cyrus later wrote on Instagram, “Performing with @jesusonmars [Linda Perry] #handsoflove from @freeheldthemovie on @theellenshow todayyyyy following a bad a$$ interview w daaaaa = bad a$$ and supaaaaa brave @ellenpage!!! Lookin forward to what else me and these goddesses are gonna do together when we combine our powers to change the world @happyhippiefdn #f*ckyeah #lgbt.”
