Miley Cyrus’ Three-Year-Old “New Look” Nose Ring Gets Sensationalized

Miley Cyrus stepped out with a nose ring this week, prompting many outlets to speculate that the bling signified some kind of turmoil.

The Daily Mail wrote, “She already has numerous tattoos and now Miley Cyrus is continuing her show of rebellion with a new nose ring.”

Rebellion?

Celeb Dirty Laundry actually tried linking the look to bogus eating disorder rumors, disgracefully posting the headline, “Is Miley Cyrus Now An Anorexic With A Nose Ring?”

Except… Cyrus first wore a nose piercing back in 2009.

On Saturday she tweeted, “How is a nose piercing I’ve had for 3 years a NEWs story. Don’t get it.”

Neither do we.

Maybe outlets were just carried away after catching a glimpse of Cyrus’ brother Trace’s astonishing new tattoo.

In any case, everyone seems very eager to jump all over Cyrus whenever she leaves her house.

But the sensationalism is getting tiresome.

    I have a nose ring and I am far from a train wreck. I am getting my Master’s degree in Social Work at USC. Give me a break. What is the point of making a ridiculous assumption that someone who has piercings and tattoos is headed for trouble? Furthermore, she has a tiny frame and she mentioned how she has been working out and stopped eating gluten (which is supposedly bad for you). Of course when you follow this routine you will lose weight. She is not anorexic. Stop making girls feed bad about themselves.

    I don’t get why so may tabloids are so bent on tearing Miley down. I mean anyone who’s been on the Internet in the past 3 yrs knows Miley had her nose pierced. Do these magazines not realize all Miley’s fans will know they are lying? They really go over the top trying to create drama that appeals to 10 yr old girls. I think Miley’s fans are much older than that and know the tabloids are stupid.

    Exactly. I have a tattoo and a nose piercing. I got mines the same time around when Miley got hers and so did Demi. This is MY body as if theirs. I been knowing Miley had a nose piercing. But since I have a tat and piercings that means I’m a slut, idiot, or trouble? Wtf . Is society turning to. They need to rid of these stereotypes and stfu.

    And this is why I highly dislike those sleazy tabloids. Always trying to tear someone else down. Because it will give them a lot of fucking money and views. Miley has a nose piercing for years. A smaller though. But. How can people THAT blind? I’m getting tired of this bullshit.

    Miley is not and will never be an anorexic. When you are working out in gym and using a different eating pattern because of certain allergies, it WILL have an impact on your body.

    Why cannot they look at all the good things Miley has done? She truly loves animals, she stands up for herself and for others and works for a lot of charities. That is more important than her private life.

    Omg. Praise this! ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Perfectly said. This girl has grown up long ago and when the media realizes that the better off they will be.She been had a nose piercing. So what? It’s just a nose. Her nose at that. She can do what she wants its her body. She bust her ass for her fans, family, friends, and countless charities. She PERSONALLY went to Haiti to personally hand out hearig aids to kids. Hearings aids that came out of her OWN pocket. She even helped but them on. But did that make headlines? NOPE. The media is pathetic. And people who bash this Girl are as well. I can’t think of a better role model for young girls. And she’s really nice. I know people who have meet her countless of times and every time she’s the same. Always a smile on her face to them always stopping for pics ad autographs. This is exactly why girls self esteem is so low. The media and society always bringing people down.

    and i got my first piercing when i was 14, my sister got her nose pierced AND tongue when she was 16. My sister and i got out first tattoos like a couple months ago. I’m 17… like who the hell gives a shit? she’s an adult and its her body. My parents sure as hell dont care, all they say is “Its your body and your life, i can’t control it.” And we dont drink nor do drugs, we’re not sluts, I’m with my boyfriend of 2 years and we’re moving out together in a couple of weeks… Its not like JUST because we have tattoos and peircings doesn’t mean we’re bad influences.

    People are just being idiotic at this point. FYI she’s 19 years old now! What exactly were you doing when you were 19? Getting drunk , hookups and all that crap. So who cares if she grinds and wears explosive outfits? She’s young and a performer and I honestly think she wants to be done with the whole role model thing because she’s grown! She has cleaned up her act a lot in my opinion she’s fit, beautful she’s planning her career and has a gorgeous boyfriend. That’s the real reason why people are hating. She’s not the slut people try to make her out to be so you all need to get a life.

    Miley isn’t anorexic . She is just a small girl. Haven’t she always been this way? & haven’t a nose ring doesnt make you reblouise . I have one & I’m not.
